“Todavía quiero jugar videojuegos con mis amigos, es divertido ser un adolescente común y corriente de vez en cuando… Me olvido de que estoy dirigiendo el sitio web más grande del mundo”. Se llama Avi Schiffmann, tiene 17 años y acaba de convertirse en uno de los creadores más solicitados en la crisis de coronavirus a nivel mundial: desarrolló el sitio nCoV2019.live, el rastreador web de casos de coronavirus más grande del mundo.
En una entrevista con el sitio QuickTake , de Bloomberg, Schiffmann cuenta cómo surgió el proyecto. Sucede que la información que había disponible estaba, fundamentalmente, en sitios de China. Entonces la filtró para que se pueda ver toda en un único sitio, y eso es ncov2019.live.
Si bien hay varios sitios que buscaron hacer esto, el joven logró capitalizarlo a través de una web. Y llegaron a ofrecerle 8 millones de dólares para pautar en su sitio, que rechazó.
“Solo quería crear una manera fácil de rastrear los casos de coronavirus, porque me di cuenta que era algo muy complicado al tener que acudir a fuentes chinas para obtener datos oficiales y no entender nada porque estaba en chino”, dice, “Así que pensé que podía extraer las cifras oficiales y añadirlas a una base de datos mucho más amplia”.
“Lo hago para cada uno de los países, yo solo quiero que la gente pueda obtener la información con tan solo echar un vistazo”, insiste. Y así es, con solo buscar un país, se puede ver el total de casos confirmados, de fallecidos, de casos más graves y de casos recuperados.
Como era de esperar, la página web fue todo un éxito, y el número de visitas no hace más que crecer. “En total tendré como 350 millones de visitas”, afirma Avi, “unos 30 millones a diario”.
Es tal el éxito del proyecto que no pasó desapercibido para algunas empresas, que ya le ofrecieron colocar anuncios en la web y monetizar el espacio para sacar rendimiento económico, llegándole a ofrecer millones de dólares si aceptaba hacerlo.
La primera sorprendida fue su madre, Nathalie, que no podía creer lo que su hijo había hecho desde el ordenador de su habitación, y ni mucho menos que hubiese empresas interesadas en el proyecto.
“Me acuerdo perfectamente, vino un momento y me dijo ‘recibí mails de empresas que quieren poner anuncios en mi página web; es más, una de ellas me está ofreciendo ocho millones de dólares” Y luego me dijo que los había rechazado”, recuerda su madre.
Para Avi fue fácil rechazarlos, porque lo hizo por una sencilla razón: no quería tener tanto dinero siendo tan joven. “Creo que es muy fácil para mi rechazar este tipo de cosas, porque tampoco tengo mucho interés en ganar grandes cantidades de dinero. Me sentiría como muy adulto. Podría decir, ok, me jubilo ya; pero no me quiero jubilar con 17 años”, insiste el adolescente, que asegura que todavía tiene mucho por hacer y aprender antes de que eso suceda. “La mitad de las cosas que he hecho ni las sabía antes de empezar a programar”, dice.
Avi siente que su proyecto no solo puede ayudar a mucha gente a obtener información y a concienciar sobre la realidad de la crisis sanitaria que estamos viviendo a nivel mundial, sino que también puede animar a otros jóvenes a crear y buscar vías por las que ayudar, solo así podremos superar la pandemia.

Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
